I grew up wanting to be an actor so that I could give a voice to and tell the stories of people who couldn't share them for themselves.

I loved embodying a character and learning my lines so that when I was in front of the camera, I could just ‘play’ with my fellow co-stars.

I learnt early on that every story was worth sharing.

Now, I get to teach and empower others to write their story and share it with the world.

I get to help them connect with their audience in such a way that has their words being remembered weeks or months later.

I get to teach them how to influence from the stage and share their thought leadership.

Why is this so important to me?

When I was younger I was taught to ‘be quiet’ and not express my emotions. I didn't know how to communicate all the things I was feeling and thinking and I felt very alone and disconnected from so many people around me. Acting changed all of that.

And now I help others find that connection with their audiences.

Some of my clients have graced the stages of huge conferences such as the Keynote, and The Morning Show on Channel 7 and booked clients after podcast episodes have gone live!

Deanna Cooney

With a dynamic career spanning over three decades, Deanna is a well-seasoned actor, voice-over artist, presenter, and MC. Her entertainment career has been marked by versatile performances and a deep commitment to the art of communication.

As a speaking coach, Deanna specialises in helping individuals transform into confident communicators. Her unique approach integrates nervous system reorganisation, deep embodiment practices, energetic and mindset alignment, and refined public speaking skills. This holistic method not only banishes speaking anxiety but also empowers clients to express themselves authentically and effectively.

In addition to my coaching practice, Deanna is honoured to teach Voice and Presenting to Camera at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Here, she guides aspiring performers and speakers through the nuances of effective vocal delivery and on-camera presence, preparing them for successful careers in the industry.

Whether on stage, behind the microphone, or in the classroom, Deanna’s mission is to help as many people as possible be the master of their own life - the boss of their future, in charge, in control, and confident AF.
